To the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Switzerland,
to the President of the United States,

Julian Assange, through Wikileaks, has documented war crimes, illegal spying activities, and other questionable practices. This is the key role of the media in democracies: creating the basis for an informed and transparent public discourse. Now, Julian Assange is persecuted as a publisher — for publishing truthful information of crucial public interest. A threat to this work is a threat to free journalism. If Julian Assange is convicted, all free journalism can be criminalised. Thus, we demand not to prosecute Julian Assange.

We ask the government of the UK not to extradite Assange to the US and to immediately release Julian Assange.

We ask the government of the US to drop the charges against Julian Assange.
